I joined the Bus Simulator 21 development team in early 2021. During this final phase before release, my work included polishing mission progression, driving experience and UI flows, as well as adding new features to the playable map and balancing buses and economy. In the first few weeks after release, I closely monitored player pain points and designed solutions to take the player experience to the next level.
A few weeks later, as priorities shifted and we started work on future parts of the Bus Simulator franchise, I transitioned to a feature team & design lead for an upcoming expansion for Bus Simulator 21. In this position, I worked closely with my colleagues from all departments to create fun, coherent, and well-implemented features for players to enjoy.
The mission was simple: Create a game-prototype in Unity.
And after an evening full of brain storming an idea was born which should change the face of the SAE Institute of Technology in Vienna, Austria forever: Hoeforce; like Broforce, but with Hoes.
Originally I worked on this project as a technical artist, creating and implementing Assets, UI and Particle Systems. However, I also took on some of the Game Design work. My main work was to make sure the game feels smooth and fast to play, as well as helping with Input methods and co-running playtesting sessions for gathering feedback.
And so it was born: The ultimate 2 player brawling game, featuring the most fluid combat, the most informative UI and the juiciest particle systems - Hoeforce! (2 Controllers required)
